The last Beatles song is coming “Now and Then” Web Fans Rejoice

The Beatles have always had a knack for the unexpected, both together and apart. And one of the most eagerly awaited releases in their lengthy and incredibly exciting history is coming in 2023. The final Beatles song, “Now and Then,” was written and performed by John Lennon, developed and worked on by Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, and is now, more than 40 years later, completed by Paul and Ringo.

McCartney, Starr, and Harrison worked on a 1970s Lennon demo called “Now and Then” for Anthology. Harrison is said to have denied the song due to its subpar sound. The quality was enhanced for the release because of the artificial intelligence technologies that Peter Jackson invented for his documentary series Get Back. McCartney explained earlier this year that “nothing has been artificially or synthetically created” on the A.I.-assisted track.

Over the years, surviving members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr occasionally collaborated on projects, but a full Beatles reunion seemed unlikely. While their individual solo careers were marked by success, they couldn’t quite replicate the magic of their time together as a band.

The Beatles officially disbanded in 1970, following a period of creative and personal tensions within the group. Each member pursued solo careers, and fans were left to wonder if they would ever reunite. Sadly, the hopes of a full-fledged reunion were dashed when John Lennon was tragically assassinated in 1980.

The Beatles’ final single, “Now and Then,” is set for release as a double A-side alongside a remastered edition of “Love Me Do,” their debut single. On November 10, fans can also anticipate reimagined and expanded versions of “The Red Album” and “The Blue Album.” Furthermore, a 12-minute documentary titled “Now and Then—The Last Beatles Song” is scheduled to premiere on The Beatles’ official YouTube channel on November 1. This documentary promises exclusive footage and commentary from Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, and Peter Jackson, as indicated in the official press release.
