A design to rebuild the elevated part of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia that collapsed after a tanker truck caught fire in the underpass was released by officials on Wednesday.At a news conference, Shapiro said, “Once finished, automobiles and trucks may return to this stretch of 95 and then we will work together to build a permanent bridge, while making sure we keep six lanes of traffic available at all times.

Around 6 a.m. on Sunday, a tanker truck fire under I-95 near the Cottman Avenue exit in the Tacony neighborhood of the city, caused the northbound lanes to collapse. The extremely congested stretch of road’s north and southbound lanes will be closed for months, according to officials.
Between the exits for Woodhaven Road in Northeast Philadelphia and Aramingo Avenue in the Port, all lanes of the roadway are closed.

Between the exits for Woodhaven Road in Northeast Philadelphia and Aramingo Avenue in the Port Richmond region, the entire roadway is closed.
The cause of the fire and the collapse of the elevated roadway segment, which officials stated did not result in any injuries or fatalities, is being investigated by federal, state, and local authorities. The National Transportation Safety Board announced that it had dispatched a team to investigate safety.
