2019 saw the opening of Dallas, Georgia’s first community health facility by Walmart (WMT) Health. Since then, it has been increasing its footprint across the country. To offer communities access to affordable healthcare, the large box retailer entered the healthcare industry. Walmart Health has grown to be a significant supplier of healthcare services across the country because it also gave priority to the needs of its local communities.
Walmart has opened more than 25 locations in a variety of states and towns, including Georgia, Illinois, Arkansas, and Florida.
Walmart declared earlier in March that it would be extending its reach to Missouri and Arizona. In Texas and other states, it will also expand the number of its community health clinics. By the end of the following year, the business hopes to have over 75 community centers open across the country.
Customers can use most major and commercial insurance at Walmart Healthcare centers. However, if a patient is uninsured or is in a network that is not included in Walmart’s services, the patient can also pay out-of-pocket as the centers offer reasonable prices.
Walmart Health also offers virtual discounted urgent care for members of UnitedHealthcare. In October 2020, the giant retailer also launched a service for people to purchase Medicare insurance plans. The company is called Walmart Insurance Services LLC.
