Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, and his wife Dr. Priscilla Chan had their third child on Friday. They shared the news on social media and included pictures of themselves and their third child, whom they named Aurelia. The pair already has two little girls.
They announced their daughter’s arrival to the world on Instagram, a branch of parent company Meta’s social media site. You really are a gift from God.
Mark Zuckerberg is seen in the picture holding their newborn daughter. It looks like baby Aurelia is staring intently at her ecstatic father. Priscilla Chan held baby Aurelia next to her naked body in the second picture. It looks like the photo was captured not long after their daughter was born.
Zuckerberg, then 38 years old, made reference to his two children and the impending birth of their third kid in September 2022. The tech entrepreneur put his palm on Priscilla’s belly in a happy Instagram selfie. A year from now, Max and August will have a new baby sibling, he wrote in the photo’s caption.
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan met at Harvard University, in 2003. Zuckerberg and friends founded Facebook while Priscilla continued her education and became a pediatrician. They got married in 2012. They welcomed daughters Max, 7 in 2015 and August, 5 in 2017.
Mark Zuckerberg and Priscilla Chan are also Co-Founders and Co-CEOs at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI). The site describes CZI as a new kind of philanthropy. It was founded in 2015 and its grants are used to foster scientific breakthroughs. Based in Redwood City, California the initiative also aims to combine tech with collaboration to increase “progress in science and education.”
