Three people tried to break into an unmarked Secret Service van in the nation’s capital, according to a law enforcement official who spoke with The Associated Press. This prompted Secret Service agents protecting President Joe Biden’s granddaughter, Naomi Biden Neal, to open fire.
In a statement, the Secret Service claimed that while one of the agents was discharged, nobody was harmed. The Metropolitan Police received a regional warning from the Secret Service requesting them to keep a lookout for the red vehicle in which the three people were seen fleeing.
The Secret Service chief of communications, Anthony Guglielmi, stated that the agents tasked with looking after her “encountered possibly three individuals breaking a window on a parked and unoccupied government vehicle.” “During this encounter, a federal agent discharged a service weapon, and it is believed no one was struck.”
