In 2024, Madison Marsh won the title of New Miss America. Marsh is the first officer in the US Air Force to have the title while on active service. He is a second lieutenant.
Madison serves in the military as a 2nd Lieutenant. Before enlisting, she attended the Air Force Academy to study physics. In addition, she is pursuing a master’s degree in public policy.
Madison is utilizing the Truman scholarship she was awarded after graduation to pursue a master’s degree in public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School. She is also a graduate intern at the Harvard Medical School, researching the use of artificial intelligence in detecting pancreatic cancer.
In 2018, Madison lost her mother to pancreatic cancer. She founded The Whitney Marsh Foundation to honor her mother and generate funds for research. Because Whitney was determined not to let her condition define her, the Whitney Marsh Foundation (WMF) was established.
Madison is a 2-time National Astronaut Scholar, 8-time Dean’s List at USAFA, 3-time Superintendent’s List at USAFA, and National Rhodes Finalist.
