Kensington Palace announced on Wednesday that the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, underwent a “planned abdominal surgery” at The London Clinic on the previous day. She is in the hospital and recovering well.
“The Princess of Wales wishes to apologize to all those concerned that she has to postpone her upcoming engagements. She looks forward to reinstating as many as possible, as soon as possible,” they added. She had the surgery at The London Clinic, where she will stay for ten to fourteen days.
The news was released less than two hours before Buckingham Palace declared that King Charles III would likely undergo surgery on his enlarged prostate in a hospital the following week.
