Celebrity housemates when they first started their careers in Hollywood, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have been friends for decades. Even though their friendship has persisted and grown, they have disagreed on many issues. When they were roomies Ben and his brother Casey had to cut Matt some slack on cleanliness and financial acumen as he had the ability to tune out on these important issues.
Although Affleck called Damon “a beautiful guy” in an interview with James Corden on Thursday night, he added that he “would not suggest living with him.”
Ben Affleck elaborated on his memories of the Bourne actor from their time together as struggling actors sharing a home with his brother Casey Affleck.
Matt Damon, according to Affleck, has never paid a bill in his life. He claimed that because he failed to pay any of the bills, they once went without electricity in their apartment.
He also threw shade on Matt Damon’s habit of “blocking things out.” He said that it was an excellent trait as far as acting was considered but backfired when a person is a roommate.
Affleck recounted an incident where he and his brother decided not to clean up after Damon as they were trying to force him to help clean the apartment.
After two weeks the Affleck brothers gave up as Damon remained unbothered and they found him in the living room “surrounded by concentric circles of garbage.” Ben said that the sushi was one and a half weeks old and had maggots in it.
The famous actor made fun of the Affleck siblings, saying they gave in to the Bourne actor and admitted they couldn’t defeat him. The actor coolly responded, “Hey, what’s up, fellas?”
The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice actor also said that Luciana Damon, Matt Damon’s wife, had a place in paradise and that he had great regard for her after having shared a home with her husband in their earlier years.
Although celebrity friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are no longer roommates they collaborate professionally and have won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay for writing and starring in Good Will Hunting. A theater near you is currently showing their newest movie, Air.
