Princess Kate Middleton made a rare public appearance on Sunday at the Wimbledon finals, where she presented the trophy to the winner. Since her cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Princess Catherine has been limiting her public engagements.
Wimbledon fans were delighted to see the Princess of Wales and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, at the prestigious tennis event. Kate Middleton received a standing ovation at Centre Court, acknowledging it with a wave, while Charlotte beamed and waved at the audience.
Princess Catherine looked stunning in a purple dress with simple jewelry, while Princess Charlotte wore a charming polka-dot dress. Kensington Palace shared a short video of the royals at Wimbledon, in which the Prince and Princess of Wales congratulated Carlos Alcaraz on his victory and thanked everyone involved in making Wimbledon a grand spectacle.
Before heading to the Royal Box at Centre Court, Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte met several British tennis players, including Emma Raducanu.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are avid tennis fans and often bring their children to watch matches during Wimbledon. Kate’s sister, Pippa Middleton, was also in attendance.
The Royal Box was filled with celebrities, including Tom Cruise, Benedict Cumberbatch, tennis legend Andre Agassi, and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in a spectacular final, winning in three straight sets and denying Djokovic any chance to return. As the patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, Princess Catherine had the honor of presenting the singles trophy to Alcaraz, who retained his title by overcoming the former seven-time men’s singles Wimbledon champion.
Meanwhile, Prince William, the Prince of Wales, was in Berlin, Germany, to support England in their Euro 2024 final match against Spain. Web fans were thrilled.
