In a recent interview with the Sunday Times Style Magazine, Alwyn discussed his latest film, “Kinds of Kindness,” and his collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos. During the conversation, he briefly touched upon his relationship with the Grammy-winning singer Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift recently released an album titled “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was inspired by a WhatsApp group called The Tortured Man Club, which includes Alwyn, Paul Mescal, and Andrew Scott.
When asked if he had listened to the album, Alwyn did not provide a direct answer but mentioned he had never visited Vauxhall, where a pub named the Black Dog—referenced in one of Swift’s songs—has become a fan pilgrimage site.
Reflecting on his past relationship with Taylor Swift, Alwyn described the breakup as “a hard thing to navigate.” He acknowledged the public scrutiny and speculation surrounding their relationship, noting, “there is always going to be a gap between what is known and what is said.
I have made my peace with that.” He emphasized their mutual decision to keep their relationship private and his intention to maintain that privacy.
