Firefighters have arrived and will continue working into Saturday to extinguish the blaze. There is a place in the factory where recyclables and raw materials are kept for later use.

The chief of the Richmond Fire Department, Tim Brown, stated that multiple fires that began burning on Tuesday afternoon kept burning on Wednesday morning among around 14 acres of various types of plastics stored both inside and outside buildings at the former industrial site in Richmond, which is located approximately 70 miles east of Indianapolis.
“We are dealing with a wide variety of plastics since there is plastic within buildings, plastic outside buildings, and plastic in semitrailers that are located all around the grounds here at the complex. It’s a total and complete disaster.”
