Three teenagers have been found dead in separate incidents in Florida; police have ruled out the possibility of a serial killer at this time

Following accounts of the shooting of three teenagers, police in Florida are scouring the area north of Orlando in search of a triple killer. Their remains were scattered in different locations. Currently, a triple homicide investigation is being conducted into the discovery of the two 16-year-old girls and the 17-year-old boy abandoned in different locations throughout Ocklawaha.

Marion County Sheriff Billy Woods has urged people to refrain from speculating “on social media” as “rumors” of a serial killer rock the sleepy town and reports suggest the tragic victims were found in a dumpster, by the side of the road, and in a submerged car.

On Thursday, March 30, police were originally called to a location in Forest Lakes Park. When they arrived, they saw a young woman laying by the side of the road with a gunshot wound. After being determined to be brain dead, Layla Silvernail was removed from life support.

A second victim, a 17-year-old boy who has not been identified, was discovered dead by the side of the road less than a mile away on Friday morning. Less than a mile away, on March 30, police were summoned to a 17-year-old boy who was found lying by the side of the road at SE 94th Street and SE 188th Court. When the officers arrived, they discovered that he had passed away, most likely from a gunshot wound.

Another 16-year-old girl who was the third victim was discovered shot to death on Saturday inside Silvernail’s vehicle, which was partly submerged in a lake. Although Marion County officers have not yet confirmed this information, there have been rumors that Layla was found, shot in the head, and dumped in a dumpster.

Police were called to the area of Malauka Loop and Malauka Loop Trace on Saturday, April 1, after receiving information that Layla Silvernail’s car was partially submerged at the margin of a nearby body of water. To gather evidence and retrieve the car, members of the MCSO Major Crimes Unit, Forensic Unit, and Underwater Recovery Team all responded. A third victim was discovered inside Layla’s car and a 16-year-old female was discovered dead from a gunshot wound.

Woods assured the close-knit community that crime detectives are working hard to find the individual who committed the heinous crimes. He requested anyone with information to come forwards and help.
