Princess Kate recently expressed her regret to the Irish Guards for being unable to attend their final rehearsal before the Trooping the Colour parade, an event celebrating the King’s birthday. As the honorary colonel of the Guards, Kate Middleton sent a heartfelt letter to the regiment, which they shared on social media.
In her letter, the Princess of Wales wrote, “Being your colonel remains a great honor, and I am very sorry that I cannot take the salute at this year’s Colonel Review. Please pass my apologies to the whole regiment. However, I do hope that I can represent you all once again very soon.”

King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to travel by carriage for this year’s Trooping the Color. Unlike last year, when he was on horseback, the King will likely sit on a dais to watch the ceremony.
The Trooping the Colour is a traditional event marking the official birthday of the British Sovereign. The 260-year-old ceremony features a parade with over 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians and will take place in London on Saturday, June 15, in honor of King Charles III.
