A Massachusetts man, Jared Ravizza, was arraigned on several charges following an alleged stabbing spree that occurred over the weekend. Ravizza, 26, from Chilmark, Martha’s Vineyard, is accused of injuring six people, including four girls under the age of 18, at a movie theater and two individuals at a McDonald’s in Plymouth.
The incident at McDonald’s took place on Tuesday. Ravizza faces multiple charges, including armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and indecent exposure. He was held for evaluation and appeared in Plymouth District Court on Tuesday morning.
According to NBC Boston, an assistant district attorney detailed the events leading up to the stabbings. Ravizza drove a black Porsche to the McDonald’s drive-through, exited his vehicle, and urinated. An argument ensued at the drive-through window, during which Ravizza allegedly stabbed an employee with a large kitchen knife. He then entered the restaurant and stabbed a female employee behind the counter. Both employees were reported to be in stable condition on Tuesday.
Following the attack, Ravizza fled the scene in his vehicle. He was pursued by police and eventually apprehended after crashing the Porsche, which then caught fire, in Sandwich on Cape Cod.
Earlier in the weekend, four young girls were stabbed at an AMC movie theater in Braintree, Massachusetts. The suspect attacked the girls, three siblings, and a friend while they were watching a movie. According to their mother, Lisa Dembowski, the attack was unprovoked, and the assailant laughed during the incident. The older girls managed to chase him away.
Police described the theater attack as “unprovoked and without warning” and released details about a black vehicle connected to the suspect, who had fled the scene.
Ravizza is also under investigation for a death in Connecticut and an alleged attack on his father in Martha’s Vineyard in April.
