Gwyneth Paltrow’s trial for her alleged involvement in a ski resort accident continued into its fourth day on Friday in Utah. Expert witness biomedical engineer Richard Boehme’s videotaped evidence concluded and the trial formally began. After examining Sanderson in 2021, Boehme testified that Sanderson’s thoracic injuries could only have been caused by a blow to the back.
According to Terry Sanderson, a Hollywood actor crashed into him at Utah’s Deer Valley resort in February 2016, causing him “permanent traumatic brain injury, four broken ribs, pain, suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, and disfigurement.” On the other hand, Paltrow claims that Sanderson hit her and then told his daughter he was renowned. The Goop founder will reportedly be called to testify today by Sanderson’s lawyers.
Sanderson has filed a $300,000 lawsuit against Paltrow; in return, she is asking only for symbolic damages of $1 and reimbursement of her legal fees. Terry Sanderson’s attorney claims that Gwyneth Paltrow is “worried” about the case’s progress.
Mark Herath, Sanderson’s lifelong friend and fellow skier, also testified about his skiing skills and experience prior to the accident. Sanderson’s daughter, Shae Sanderson Herath, made a statement around noon local time. Sanderson Herath is married to Mark Herath’s sister. When two skis slid into her area, “forcing her legs apart,” Paltrow says she “froze.”
Goop’s creator stressed that she was not accusing Sanderson of sexual assault; rather, she was attempting to make sense of the chaos in her head after the accident. Paltrow claimed that her skiing instructor knows everything there is to know about the importance of staying at the scene of a ski collision when questioned if she was aware of this rule.
According to testimony presented in court on Friday, it’s possible that the alleged GoPro footage of Gwyneth Paltrow’s skiing mishap doesn’t exist. Sanderson’s daughter had previously alluded to a video of the 2016 incident in an email she sent during the trial. Prior to this, Shae Sanderson-Herath had shown the jury an email in which she hinted at possible GoPro film of the collision. On Friday, Sanderson-Herath stated that, despite her earlier claims to the contrary, she had not actually seen any of the aforementioned footage.
