Toccoa Riverside Restaurant in Blue Ridge, Georgia, had dining guests including four couples and eleven children. When the bill came, there was a $50 surcharge, claiming the charge was for noisy children. The restaurant does have preclusions on it menu where it charges extra fees for things like additional fees of $3 for sharing a meal with someone, and more.
The owner of the restaurant, Tim Richter, told the patrons that the families “belonged at Burger King.” It looks like the restaurant makes it a point to charge people for what they think is bad parenting.
However, news outlet WSBT-TV reported He described the children as “running all over the restaurant. “Richter said he never actually charged the family, only giving them a warning. “We want parents to be parents,” he said.
